Passing on Wanderlust

While I was pregnant, I did my fair share of traveling for work. It was 14 flights to be exact (complete with nausea and swollen ankles).

Although despite some discomforts of pregnancy, I like to think that I was starting my baby boy young ;) Teaching him in the womb, the beauty of travel and exploring new places. To remember some of the cities I visited with my Theo, I picked him up a book as a figurative stamp in his soon to be growing passport. The books are from M. Sasek's children's travel collection. Someday when reading him bedtime stories, I will get to tell him, 'you've been there in my tummy.' And for some reason, that just really warms my heart.

  1. I love the look of Theo's bookshelf in the post below. My travelling days have slowed down since my boy came along, but I definitely want him to grow up knowing there is a big wide world out there. He is only three, but loves looking at maps, and can pick out 9 countries so far : ) He often tells me he wants to go to "China and Hong Kong to see the dragon dancers" : ) Or London to ride a double decker bus : )

  2. Ahh...so super sweet! We live in a small town in Cali and though I love this is life I miss the travelling we used to do. We travel, of course, as a family unit on family vacations but it never seems long enough and with the kids being back in school, it has become a little less often. I love the idea of inspiring our children about the big, beautiful world that is out there with diverse and interesting people to meet.

  3. I found your blog after following your IG (via one of the Small Fry gals) and have been loving your posts! I especially love this- it's always so fun visiting the same places you went with your little one IN your belly, but now out. Such a special "full circle" kind of feeling.
