This particular work trip to the Netherlands was a quick turnaround, 11+ hour flight, 9 hour time change, 3 1/2 work days and then before I knew it, I was back in LA! It's crazy to think of Europe as a long weekender from California. There wasn't much time for sight seeing (I'm grateful I got a good dose in last trip), but I did manage to sneak in some night walks around town to take in more of the beautiful city...
One of my favorite things about Europe- the sidewalk cafes. They really know how to stop, and enjoy the moment, even in 40 degrees.
We had a team dinner at this amazing restaurant called, Toscanini. If you head to Amsterdam, I would definitely recommend it. It was cozy and charming and filled with only locals (which I feel like is always a good sign)
Surprisingly, I am doing pretty well so far with the jet lag. Joel doesn't know how I am functioning (ha!) but I always force myself to sleep on flights (slip a little melatonin), because I know I will be thankful later. My biggest concern is that I usually end up getting sick a week later, I go into crash mode. I'm trying to avoid the inevitable and so I have been drinking lots of Kombucha and pressed juice.
Do you have any secret tricks to prevent getting sick?
