Travel thoughts

My first fascination with travel was sparked on my London study abroad, my sophomore year of college and it hasn't really stopped since. Getting outside my comfort zone has helped shape my interests and form who I've become. I have tried to tell my little sister and others in their college years that it really is such a unique time in your life, when you literally have a world full of possibilities at your feet. No other time in your life do you have summers off or semesters open to explore and to unconventionally educate yourself. Travel isn't all about those that can afford it, you can make things happen if it means enough to you. Whether through student loans, sponsors, hard work and savings! Your university can offer you almost any experience, in any country. So take it!

Although the working world is not as lenient or flexible, I have tried to find opportunities to explore through my work and my 10 very precious vacation days. I hope for it always to be a part of my life, even with kids, actually especially with kids, because it means that much to me.

I stumbled upon this quote today, and really loved it. I felt such a connection. We are so lucky to live in a time where the world is so accessible these days.

Love this quote as well, found on this inspiring blog, "Every place I have ever visited changed my life in some way, either spiritually, emotionally or intellectually. Isn’t that the point of travel?"

  1. i love both of these quotes! and i love that you with emphasized "especially with kids"! I took my little boy on some trips this year with just us and I loved it! Now if I can only get my husband to get a few more vacay days and a bigger traveling budget. ;)

  3. Love these quotes and I share your same passion for travel. College study abroads are the best and I hope my kids take advantage of that too! I love that you said 'especially with kids' you will still travel. It is so much of a priority to us that we set aside travel money every month and have set a goal to take a trip to a new place every year, with or without kids. Never Stop!
